Organisers have been busy distributing posters for the protest march on 20 October. A GoFundMe page has been set up to fundraise for printing and other costs of the campaign.

In a great show of support and solidarity, almost every retail and business window in Tipperary Town is now displaying the #march4tipp poster. Organisers said that they encountered massive support among retailers and business owners when they were distributing the posters. "It was like we heard a horror story in each shop as we got told about the difficulties businesses have been facing. There was a huge welcome for the fact that we now get to do something about it as a community", a group representative said. Quite a few retailers said that they intend to close while the march is taking place, both to allow them to take part and to show solidarity with the community.

The march, which will be family-friendly, will commence at 2.00 pm on Saturday the 20th of October and is expected to take about 2 hours.  More details about the starting point and route will be published shortly. If funds allow, leaflets will be printed delivered to all homes in the area with details of the issues and of the march itself.

The organisers are anxious that as many children will take part, especially as DEIS funding for our primary schools is one of the key issues in the campaign.  Organisers have also considered people who may have mobility issues and say "if you can't walk with us, stand with us". People with mobility issues are invited to gather near the Irish House. Very positive liaison with the Gardai has begun around such issues as traffic management on the day.

Organisers have been approached by people asking how they could help with the costs involved.  The group are urging anyone who can afford to, to visit the GoFundMe page and donate what they can to help with costs such as poster and leaflet printing, signs and banners. "We have no funds and we think we can make a greater impact if we can find some money to get things like printing done. Any funds that might be left over will be used for activities to improve the town", they said.

The GoFundMe page can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/march4tipp Any donations can be made in a secure manner using a debit or credit card.  The group is anxious that the public will have confidence in how any money is managed and they are delighted that Martin J. McHugh and Co Accountants of St Michael Street have kindly agreed to manage and audit any funds received.

In the interests of transparency and to assure the community that there are no political influences involved, the group also wanted to publish the names of those who are currently involved. There are new additions to the group from time to time.  The current members are: Padraig Culbert, Lisa English, Lisa McGrath, Denis Mulhair, Katrina Quinlan, Martin Quinn, Anne-Marie Ryan, Katherina Ryan, Mary Margaret Ryan and Breda White.
