The Tipperary Fire and Rescue Service has shared a video on their Facebook page that shows a very simple but essential precaution that should be taken in every home. The video was made when the Clonmel Brigade attended a fire last week.
The Facebook post urges people to close the internal doors in their houses at night time. "Closing a door slows down the spread of fire from one room to the next allowing you and your family valuable time to act", the post states. The video shows very graphically how the side of a door that was exposed to the fire was extensively damages, whereas the other side of the door was relatively untouched by the flames.
